Doping
Drug abuse is a major issue in sport. However, doping does not only mean taking a prohibited substance, but also includes prohibited methods or certain omissions. As sport, especially elite sport, can hardly manage without medical supervision, it is the task of the national anti-doping agencies to enforce the rules of the WADA Code (International Anti-Doping Regulations) in their own country.
All sportspeople are responsible for ensuring that they comply with all the rules of the WADA Code. However, they should be informed about the applicable rules through prevention and information measures by anti-doping agencies, sports associations and clubs. It is also in the athletes' own interests to fulfil these tasks, as a doping scandal can lead to a major damage to their image in addition to a possible ban.
All information on the latest rules and regulations can be found on the Anti-Doping Switzerland website.
