Endurance

Endurance is the ability to maintain a given level of performance right up to the finish line or to endure a certain level of exertion for as long as possible without significant signs of fatigue. It also means resistance to fatigue and is therefore the basis for the ability to recover quickly. However, the concept of endurance is complex and therefore controversial, because on the one hand endurance is determined by metabolic activity, and on the other hand psychological aspects are also relevant. This is why it is also referred to as psycho-physical fatigue resistance.

In endurance sports, endurance determines performance, in all other disciplines it is necessary in order to be able to train (endurance), to be successful in competition and to recover quickly after physical exertion.
