Teach a subject

This chapter focuses on the "how" and provides 34 practical recommendations divided into four core areas:

  • Transmitting: This is the "core business" and involves creating a conducive learning climate based on the "L-L-P" formula (laughter, learning, performance). Instructors must formulate clear learning goals (SMART rule), lead the group safely through the planning cycle, and ensure success through adaptive tasks (6+1 model) and constructive feedback.

  • Promoting: The focus is on the positive development of participants. This involves supporting personal growth (self-perception, self-worth, self-regulation) and strengthening group relationships through diversity and constructive conflict management ("disruptions take priority").

  • Innovating: Instructors should constantly reflect on themselves and their activities to develop further. This includes setting personal goals, pursuing continuing education, and actively following the development of their discipline.

  • Managing the environment: This area describes engagement within the organization. Instructors carry the values of sport into their network, maintain contact with key persons (e.g. board members, facility managers), and exchange ideas outside their own organization to utilize synergies.
