Manifestations of mobility


ROM, Range of Motion, refers to the maximum range of motion. ROM is important for fitness exercises, as the entire ROM should be utilised whenever possible when training muscles. Two other concepts of mobility are active and passive mobility. Passive means achieving the achievable range of motion under the influence of external forces, e.g. when a partner stretches the body part. Active mobility encompasses the range of movement that can be achieved using your own muscle strength.
